Natasha's Law and School Lunches

Natasha's Law came into effect on 1st October 2021. One of the requirements of the law is to ensure the relevant information (allergen and ingredients data), is accessible and available for parents and carers to ensure an informed choice. You can access this data by following the links below:

Breaktime Fruit snacks

For breaktime, children are allowed to bring a healthy snack, either raw fruit or vegetables. They can also purchase a fresh piece of fruit from the School Council's Fruit Trolley, at a cost of 35p.

Children are also allowed to bring water to drink in a clearly labelled bottle, with their name and class. These are kept in the classrooms.  NO JUICE OR FLAVOURED DRINKS ARE ALLOWED.

Birthday Treats

We appreciate that there may be some special times throughout the year when children may wish to bring sweets or chocolate in to share with their friends (e.g birthdays). Due to the new requirements from Natasha’s Law, we ask that children only bring in pre-packed sweets where ingredients are listed on the packaging e.g. haribos.

These can then be handed out at the end of the day before children go home and children are strongly encouraged to ask their parents or guardians before they open them.

Please understand that we cannot accept any homemade or individual sweets e.g. from a mutli-pack or tin, as this will not comply with Natasha's Law or current allergen requirements. Please understand that while school is happy for parents to share the joy of their child’s birthday, we MUST also be aware of children in class with allergies. To ensure that we meet our legal obligation, ALL sweets and treats MUST come via the school office, where they will be checked before being passed to the class teacher.
